There is something so beautiful about the guardians in front of the gates of Beijing...sometimes they are Foo Dogs - one male and one female (the female always has a puppy under her paw, the male a ball), and sometimes they are the mythical multi-creature Quilin. Hooved feet, horns on it's head, lion's tail and scaled body. Whatever the form, the guardians serve their purpose...they silently guard.
